Return to Mount Budawang
Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 10:56PM | 2 Comments We drove to the Budawang National Park on Sunday to climb Mount Budawang (1128 metres). This time around the weather didn't prevent us from reaching our destination.
The walk to the summit of Mount Budawang is mostly uphill, but more of a step walk than a climb. Therefore, it's not that challenging but really nice all the same. It took about 90 minutes to get to the top from where we parked the car. We ran down which took about 45 minutes.
Although it was overcast, the view from the summit across the Budwangs was pretty inspirational. It definately made us want to go deeper into the park and explore.
According to the DECCW website the Budwangs are ...
"A rugged wilderness of steep slopes and remote trails. The Budawang National Park is a challenging invitation to the experienced bushwalker. For those who can last the distance, the summit of Mt Budawang reveals a magnificent panoramic view of the southern highlands and the distant coast.
This is a rugged and remote wilderness area, which makes walking in the park suitable for fit and experienced bushwalkers only. Make sure you're equipped for difficult and isolated conditions and carry sufficient water and survival gear. There are formal and informal walking tracks in the park, including a fire trail to the summit of Mt Budawang.
